Since I always wanted to design a stage set, I decided to study at the HGK Basel in Switzerland at the institute for interior design and Szenografie for a semester term. At the beginning of my foreign stay it started, however, to a two-week workshop to an old cloister at Senones [France]. This offered me the opportunity in the context of the task: designing the narration  of a light installation in the old ruins of the library.
The semester project [the birds] from Aristophanes then started in cooperation with the Basle theatre. It was our aim to design a realizable stage set which is exhibited at the Szenografiefestival 08 in addition. I have learned dealing with the scenic room and what it means to draw not only development and contents of a play into consideration but also to direct and to design outfits.

If the Australians would describe their country in two concise words, the answer would be: Absolutely amazing! And it was! From legendarily beautiful rain forests to endless streets in the scrawny countryside of the Outback up to wonderfully coloured coral-reefs in the Great Barrier Reef.
After a month of marathon Backpacking along the Eastcoast it dragged me into the design metropolis Melbourne where I completed a traineeship at the buro of Herbert + Mason from June until August. The young architectural office primarily deals with conceptual design, retail design as well as the arranging of bars and restaurants. And my tasks were that way among other things, the independent development of a concept for a well-known pop-up store and the rebuilding of a bar in Melbourne.

coming from the North German flat country, I was not aware that I will move to a town which was built on seven mountains and live there for half a year. Literally breathless I arrived in my new place to stay. Before I began my studies of "ambiance Interiores" at the IADE (Instituto de Artes Visuais, Design e Marketing), I had the opportunity to train my calf muscle and to develop an addiction to "Pasteis de Nata" with a warm "Galao". Because Portuguese do not take punctuality too seriously, the courses began with a two weeks delay. I was usually the most punctual.
I have nevertheless taken part in two very interesting projects. And I have learned a lot about Portuguese history. Where otherwise one has the possibility to make a project in the birthplace of the first margrave of Portugal (to Marques de Pombal)?
